Dat Politics is a French electronic band formed in 1999. Originally a laptop quintet, the group transitioned to a duo in 2009, consisting of Claude Pailliot and Gaëtan Collet. Their energetic live performances and extensive touring garnered them a dedicated following. Their music, often classified under electropop, is known for its catchy melodies and experimental elements. Dat Politics released their debut album Tracto Flirt (1999) on Tigerbeat6. They collaborated with notable acts such as Matmos, Mouse on Mars, and Dan Deacon, and performed at major festivals including the Dour Festival in Belgium and Sonar Night in Baltimore, United States. The band released eleven studio albums, including Substage (2023) on Disc Drive. They also appeared on various experimental or dance compilations, such as Clicks & Cuts alongside Alva Noto and Pan Sonic. Other notable albums include Villiger (2000) and Sous Hit (2001).
