Florian Noack, born on January 15, 1990 in Auderghem, is a Belgian pianist. He started piano lessons at age four with Yuka Izutsu and Michel Wiggers. At eleven, he joined the Chapelle musicale Reine Élisabeth in Brussels, studying under notable pianists including Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Brigitte Engerer, Dmitri Baschkirow, and Vitaly Margulis. Noack's education continued at the Musikhochschule Köln with Vassily Lobanov and later at the Musikhochschule Basel with Claudio Martínez Mehner. His breakthrough came with wins at the Internationalen Rachmaninow-Klavierwettbewerb für junge Pianisten in 2011 and the Internationalen Robert Schumann-Wettbewerb für Klavier und Gesang in 2012. Noack's discography includes Lyapunov: Piano Works, Vol. 1 (2013), Transcriptions & Paraphrases (2014), and Brahms & Medtner: Piano Works (2016). He received the Echo Klassik award as Junger Künstler des Jahres in 2015. Noack is known for transcribing orchestral works for piano and performing lesser-known romantic and post-romantic pieces.
