The Old Ceremony, a pop-noir musical group from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, was formed in 2004 by Django Haskins. The band gained initial traction through an extended residency at the West End Wine Bar in Chapel Hill. Their debut album, The Old Ceremony, was released in 2005 under Alyosha Records. Following this release, they embarked on tours across North Carolina and the Eastern US, attracting attention from filmmaker Gill Holland, who offered them a contract with sonaBLAST! Records. In 2006, they released their second album, Our One Mistake, which was selected as one of Paste magazine's 'Top 100 Albums of 2007'. The band continued to tour extensively, performing with notable acts such as Chuck Berry and Cake. Their subsequent albums included Walk on Thin Air (February 2009), Tender Age (September 2010), and Fairytales and Other Forms of Suicide (August 2012). In 2011, they undertook their first European tour.
