Black Debbath is a Norwegian hard rock and heavy metal band formed in 1998 in Oslo, Norway. The group was established by four members of Duplex Records: Egil Hegerberg, Lars Lønning, Aslag Guttormsgaard, and Ole Petter Andreassen. They are recognized for their humorous and politically charged lyrics, a style they define as “Heavy Politically Incorrect Humor Rock”. In 2000, the ensemble achieved national recognition when they received the Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy) for their debut album, Tung, tung politisk rock (1999), though the award was later revoked and given to The Kovenant after the presenter cited the incorrect winner. Their discography includes the studio albums Welcome to Norway (2001), Den femte statsmakt (2004), and Naar vi døde rocker (en tungrockhyllest til Ibsen) (2006). The band performed at major events including the Øyafestivalen and the Quartfestivalen. Subsequent recordings include the albums Universell Riffsynsing (2015) and Norsk barsk metal (2018), and the single “PILS!” (2018). In 2022, they released the album Age of Kørka (2022), followed by the recording Bortkastet Hardrock vol. 1 (2024).
