Bruce MacGregor, born in 1974 in Inverness, Scotland, is a violinist known for his contributions to folk music. Educated at Inverness Royal Academy, MacGregor studied history at Edinburgh University. His musical journey began under the tutelage of Donald Riddell CBE, alongside fellow fiddlers Duncan Chisholm and Iain MacFarlane. In 1998, MacGregor founded Blazin' Fiddles, marking his breakthrough in the music industry. He released his debut solo album, 101 Reasons to Do Nothing, in 2007, followed by Sonas in 2008 and Road to Tyranny in 2021. MacGregor's career also includes significant broadcasting work; he presented Travelling Folk on BBC Radio Scotland. Additionally, MacGregor is involved in various entrepreneurial ventures, including directing Bogbain Farm.
