Pauline Ester is best known for her 1989 hit " Oui, je l'adore". Her real name was Sabrina Ocon, born in Toulouse on December 18, 1963, and she chose her stage name in reference to polyester, the merchandise carried by a truck on her way to Paris. She began singing under the name Sabrina Ô and recorded her first single, "Bornéo", written and composed by her guitarist Frédéric Loizeau. In 1989, she was offered a new opportunity by the Polydor label, seduced by her personality. After the release of "Il fait chaud", the following "Oui, je l'adore" entered the Top 50 and reached No. 11 in the summer of 1990, staying there for twenty-four weeks. Following this, the album Le Monde Est Fou went gold, and included another minor hit, "Une fenêtre ouverte", which reached no. 33 in 1991. Despite the fact that "Le Monde est fou " was banned from the airwaves at the time of the war in Iraq, Pauline Ester did not give up, and recorded her second album, De l'Autre Côté (1992), but did not return to the charts. The singer stayed away from the stage for several years, until the release of the Best Of compilation in 2006, which included three previously unreleased tracks, including the single "Y'a de l'amour partout". The following year, she wrote and performed the songs for Éric Le Roche's film New délire, then reunited with her musical partner for a series of acoustic duo concerts. In 2014, she took part in the Stars 80 l'Origine tour, which lasted until the following year, and continued to sing "Oui, je l'adore" on certain occasions.
