Lara & Reyes was an American new flamenco and Latin jazz group from San Antonio, formed in 1989 by Sergio Lara and Joe Reyes. The ensemble performs instrumental pieces influenced by flamenco. Lara and Reyes received acoustic guitar honors from the San Antonio News and the San Antonio Current. The group released the debut album Two Guitars - One Passion in 1992, followed by Guitarras Hermanas in 1995. In 1996, Higher Octave Music reissued the debut album and the group released Exotico. Subsequent recordings include Riverwalk (1998) and the 2000 albums Navidad and World Jazz. In 2001, World Jazz received a Latin Grammy Award nomination for Best Instrumental Pop Album. The group released the album Lara & Reyes in 2006, which received the Indie Acoustic Project Award for Best Latin Album in 2007. The ensemble became inactive in 2006.
