Marcin Masecki, born September 6, 1982, in Warsaw, Poland, is an avant garde pianist, composer, and conductor. He began piano lessons at age seven, studying under Małgorzata Rawska and Andrzej Jakodziński, and graduated from the Chopin Secondary School in Warsaw in 1998. Masecki's early career included winning the Grand Prix at the Europ Jazz Contest Hoeilaart with his first jazz trio. He graduated from Berklee College of Music that same year. His debut solo album Bob was released in 2009, followed by notable works such as Chopin Chopin Chopin (2011) and Polonezy (2014), which earned him the Polityka's Passport Award for Contemporary Music. Masecki has collaborated with various artists and composed music for films like Cold War.
