Mother Superior, an American rock band formed in 1993, was composed of Jim Wilson on vocals and guitar, Marcus Blake on bass, and Matt Tecu on drums. The trio gained recognition as the backing band for Henry Rollins on his spoken-word tours and recordings. Their debut album, The Mothership Has Landed, was released in 1996. Mother Superior’s career included work with producer Wayne Kramer of MC5. The band received attention for albums such as Sin (2002) and 13 Violets (2004). Their final album, Grande, was released in 2008, after which the group became inactive.
