Trumans Water, an American indie rock band from San Diego, California, was formed in 1991 by brothers Kirk and Kevin Branstetter along with original drummer Jeff Jones. Their debut album, Of Thick Tum, released in 1992, gained significant attention when it was played in its entirety by DJ John Peel on BBC Radio One. This exposure propelled them to indie stardom in the UK and led to three subsequent sessions for Peel's show. The band's experimental approach, characterized by improvisation and live recording, resulted in a prolific discography including albums like Godspeed the Punchline (1993), Milktrain to Paydirt (1995), and Apistogramma (1997). Despite geographical separations, Trumans Water continued to release music, with notable albums like You Are in the Line of Fire And They Are Shooting at You in 2003 and O Zeta Zunis in 2010.
