Alphawezen was a German electronic duo from Aachen formed in 1998. The group consisted of the composer Ernst Wawra and the singer Asu Yalcindag, who was responsible for the band's lyrics. They evolved from an instrumental project into a melodic ambient electronic pop act with the release of their debut studio album, L'après-midi d'un Microphone (2001). Their recording career included the single “Gai Soleil” (2000), which was featured in a club scene for the 2003 film Nathalie.... They followed this success with the studio albums En Passant (2004) and Comme Vous Voulez (2007), the latter of which was re-titled Freeze for its release in France. After issuing the double-disc compilation Snow/Glow (2009), they released the singles “Smile” (2011) and “My Funny Valentine” (2016). The ensemble reunited to record their final studio work, Source (2023), which was preceded by the track “Milk” (2023). The group became inactive in 2023 after completing their final album and associated music videos.
