Joel Fan (born July 29, 1969) is an American classical pianist and Steinway Artist from New York City. Fan studied at the Juilliard School (Pre-College) and earned a bachelor's degree from Harvard University under Leon Kirchner, followed by a Master of Music from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University under Leon Fleisher. In 1980, Fan debuted with the New York Philharmonic at age 11. A member of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble, Fan achieved two consecutive Billboard Top 10 debuts with the solo albums World Keys (2006) and West of the Sun (2009). Fan performed as a soloist with orchestras including the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic and London Sinfonietta, collaborating with conductors such as Keith Lockhart and Zubin Mehta. His recording Dances for Piano and Orchestra received a Grammy Award nomination. Other works include the Leon Kirchner homage Revelations (2013).
