VIA Plamya, a Russian musical group, was formed in Moscow in October 1975. The band originated from members of the popular Soviet group VIA Samotsvety who parted ways with their leader Yuriy Malikov. Under the artistic direction of Nikolai Mikhailov, VIA Plamya released their first EP Песни Марка Фрадкина in 1977. Throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, they continued to release EPs such as Белые крылья (1978) and albums like Время «пик» (1982). In the 1980s, they released albums such as Кинематограф (1984) and На два дня (1988). In the early 2000s, they re-recorded their repertoire on CD with the release of Пламя – Grand Collection (2001).
