Countertenor, Randall Scotting, has become a sought-after artist by some of the world’s most esteemed opera houses. In December of 2019 he made a spectacular debut at the Royal Opera House as Apollo in Britten’s Death in Venice, singing to sold-out audiences at Covent Garden in David McVicar’s acclaimed production. Randall then joined the roster of the Metropolitan Opera to cover performances of Handel’s Agrippina and he was invited to sing in Handel’s Xerxes for concerts at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.
A dramatically persuasive and intensely musical interpreter, Randall is recognised for winning over audiences with his stunning vocal beauty, stylish singing, and charismatic stage presence. In 2021, he received rave reviews for his singing and acting as the Refugee in Flight at Seattle Opera and performed the title role in Cavalli’s Eliogabalo in San Francisco. Randall then travelled to London to record a highly anticipated solo album with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, led by Handel-specialist Laurence Cummings, entitled The Crown: Heroic Arias for Senesino.
Randall returned to the Metropolitan Opera this season for performances of Eurydice by Aucoin; and in May of 2022 he made another strong debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Haas’ opera Thomas. A second solo album of lute and folk songs that Randall recorded with Grammy award winning lutenist Stephen Stubbs in Los Angeles will also be released by Signum in February 2023.
