Theo Parrish, born in 1972 in Washington D.C., is an American producer and DJ. Raised in Chicago, Parrish began producing music and DJing in the mid-1980s, inspired by the Chicago house scene. After studying art at the Kansas City Art Institute, he moved to Michigan in 1994, connecting with the Detroit techno scene. His music blended deep house with jazz, soul, and new wave, utilizing sampling and distinctive offbeat rhythms. His first release was "Lake Shore Drive", a B-side on Moodymann's 1995 single Inspirations from A Small Black Church on the Eastside of Detroit. Parrish released several albums, including First Floor (1998) and Parallel Dimensions (2000). He has also been a member of 3 Chairs with Moodymann and Rick Wilhite, as well as the TOM Project.
