Anđelko Klobučar was born on July 11, 1931, in Zagreb, Croatia. He began his musical journey learning piano at a private school before studying at the Academy of Music in Zagreb starting in 1948. He graduated in 1955 and further honed his skills with Anton Nowakowski in Salzburg and André Jolivet in Paris. He taught music theory, counterpoint, and musical forms and styles at the Academy of Music from 1963, while teaching improvisation at the Catholic Institute of Theology. He served as the permanent organist at Zagreb Cathedral from 1958 until either 1996 or 2004, depending on the source. Klobučar composed around 120 works of spiritual or liturgical character, plus another 120 titles for documentaries, films, and cartoons. He received the Vladimir Nazor Prize in 1995 and the Porin Award in 2002 for his contributions to Croatian music. He passed away on August 7, 2016.
