Orphx, a Canadian electronic music duo formed in Hamilton, Ontario in 1993, consists of Rich Oddie and Christina Sealey. The group initially included Aron West but he left in 1995 to focus on his project Tropism. Orphx's early works were influenced by industrial and club electronics, with their first releases including 01 C60 (1993) and 02 C60 (1994). Their debut album, Fragmentation, was released in 1996 under Malignant Records. The duo gained recognition through their collaborations and performances, notably with the German label Hands Productions from 1997 onwards. Orphx's discography includes notable albums such as Circuitbreaking (2004), which explored themes of globalization, and Pitch Black Mirror (2016), which delved into depression and redemption. They have performed at major festivals including Mutek and Berghain, and their work has been featured in documentaries like I Dream of Wires (2014) and Industrial Soundtrack for the Urban Decay (2015). Orphx's music often addresses social, political, and psychological themes.
