Einar Stray Orchestra is a Norwegian indie pop and post-rock band formed in Sandvika in 2006. Originally an experimental solo project by Einar Stray, the group evolved into a quintet featuring Stray, Ofelia Østrem Ossum, Steinar Glas, Lars Fremmerlid, and Maja Gravermoen Toresen. The band gained recognition in 2008 with the split-vinyl EP Favors & Fields, a collaboration with Moddi, which led to performances at festivals like Øya and Slottsfjell. Their debut album, Chiaroscuro, followed in 2011, with the EP For the Country released in 2012. Subsequent albums include Politricks (2014) and Dear Bigotry (2017). The group has performed over 300 concerts across Europe, Asia, and Africa, blending classical and folk with rock elements. In 2023, the band changed its name to Mildfire and released the album Kids In Traffic in 2024. Their track “Last Lie” was nominated for the Musikkforleggerprisen in the category Årets Verk Populærmusikk.
