Knasterbart, a German folk rock band, was formed in 2012 by Malte Hoyer, singer of Versengold. The project began as Hotze Knasterbart for a live role-playing game and released Sauf mich schön. In 2013, Hoyer and Simon Erichsen from Mr. Hurley & die Pulveraffen started performing together before expanding into a full band with seven members. Their first major performance was at the Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum in Rastede. The band released several albums, including Branntwein für alle! (2014), an overhauled version of Sauf mich schön (2015), and Superknasterbart (2016). Knasterbart announced their disbandment in April 2022.
