A finalist in the first season of the French version of X Factor in 2009, Marie Luy was slow to get her singing career off the ground. She worked on her repertoire with Julie Zenatti and Frédéric Château, but saw no doors open to her demos. Tired of waiting and renamed Marily, she simply decided to go and sing her compositions in front of the headquarters of the major French record companies. This original and cheeky approach caught the attention of Pascal Nègre, who agreed to receive her. The Universal CEO opened his address book to her and put her in touch with producer Johnny Williams and Gilles Luka. They help her compose a new repertoire and release the song "Ce sont mes rêves" in June 2014. The album Ce Sont Mes Rêves was released in March 2015.
