Lacraps was born in Roubaix, northern France, in 1985. He draws his influence mainly from rap music from the East Coast, but remains sensitive to various musical trends, ranging from the French hip-hop scene with artists such as NTM and Lunatic, to world-famous stars such as Michael Jackson, Bob Marley and Stevie Wonder. From 2008, he was involved in a number of musical projects, before deciding to settle in the south, in Montpellier, and in 2014 released his first album entitled La Machine à Ecrire . In early 2016, he released 42 Grammes, in collaboration with Mani Deïz, and followed it up the same year with the double album Les Preuves du Temps, preceded by four singles, two of which recorded collaborations with rapper Davodka and singer Lélé. Drawing on the vivid lyrics for which he is best known, Lacraps' rap is aggressive, uncompromising and highly personal.
