Lena Burke, born February 18, 1978, in Havana, Cuba, is a Cuban singer-songwriter who began her musical journey at an early age. She started her career singing backing vocals for notable artists such as Gloria Estefan and Alejandro Sanz. Her breakthrough came with the debut single "Tu Corazón," a duet with Sanz, which received a Latin Grammy nomination for Song of the Year in 2005. This led to the release of her self-titled debut album Lena that same year. In 2009, she released the soundtrack album La Mala, featuring covers and original songs, accompanying her acting debut in the biographical film about Cuban singer La Lupe. Lena Burke also collaborated with Alex Ubago and Jorge Villamizar on the trio project Alex, Jorge y Lena in 2010.
