Brahe Djäknar, a Finland-Swedish academic male voice choir, was founded in 1937 in Turku, Finland. The choir began under the direction of John Rosas and later transitioned through leaderships of Gottfrid Gräsbeck and Ulf Långbacka. Brahe Djäknar is known for its annual Christmas concerts held around the first Sunday of Advent at Turku Cathedral, often collaborating with sister choir Florakören and symphony orchestra Akademiska Orkestern. The choir also performs annually on April 30th to celebrate spring, with these events frequently broadcast live. Brahe Djäknar has toured extensively internationally, including notable performances in Canada and the United States (2005), Norway (2006), Italy (2007), Poland (2008), France and Spain (2009), Austria (2010), and Japan (2012) to mark its 75th anniversary.
