Philip Kane, born in London, United Kingdom, is a singer known for his contributions to soul and art rock. His career began with the release of "Media Gurls" in 2001. In 2002, he released his debut album Songs For Swinging Lovers. Cathal Coughlan produced his earlier work as Avalanche. Kane's subsequent albums include Time: Gentlemen (2004) and Flowers & Ledges (2016), the latter of which featured backing vocals from Mark Eitzel and was listed as one of the tracks of 2016 by The Quietus. His music has received international recognition, with a song aired on RTL in France and favorable reviews from Norwegian websites and the national newspaper Dagbladet, as well as Uncut magazine. In December 2016, he performed at the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall as part of their Late Night Jazz season. Kane released the album Book of Broken Things in 2021.
