Francesco Lotoro, born on November 28, 1964, in Italy, is a pianist, conductor, and composer. He graduated from the Niccolò Piccinni Conservatory of Bari and continued his studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. Francesco Lotoro's early career focused on Johann Sebastian Bach, transcribing works such as The Musical Offering and Brandenburg Concertos. In 1995, he founded the Orchestra Musica Judaica and embarked on a project to collect and record musical literature produced by musicians in captivity during the Holocaust, culminating in the 48-CD volume collection titled KZ Musik (2011). Lotoro received the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from France in 2013 and was awarded the Knight Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2014.
