Bang!, a British dance music band, formed in 1995. The group, originally consisting of producer Nick Arnold and Tom Orton along with vocalist Donna Grassie, gained prominence during the 1990s as figures in the happy hardcore genre. Initially, Nick Arnold and Tom Orton were members of Smart E's, a British pop music group that achieved success with their single "Sesame's Treet", which reached number 2 on the UK charts in 1992. Following this success, they embarked on solo projects before forming Bang!. Their first single, "Cloudy Daze" featuring vocals by Donna Grassie, marked a transition as Tom Orton departed to collaborate with other artists like Jack Speed and Kriminal. Nick Arnold and Jo continued under the name Bang! producing hits such as "Shooting Star", which was included in various compilations, notably the Dancemania Speed series. Their prolific output during this period also includes tracks like "Stealth", "Oblivvion" and "Blaze!". In 2005 they released their first full-length album titled "Shooting Star". The song was later covered by Flip & Fill in 2002, reaching number 3 on the UK charts. Jo James left Bang! to join Flip & Fill for their releases "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" and "Field of Dreams".
