Aïwa, a French electronic music group formed in 1998, originated from Rennes. The collective was founded by Wamid Al Wahab and Naufalle Al Wahab, two brothers of Iraqi descent who grew up in France. Initially blending their musical practices—bass for Wamid and derbouka with Arabic rap for Naufalle—with electronic productions, they aimed to merge classical Arabic music from their childhood with modern Western sounds. Aïwa's debut album, Aïwa, was released in 2003. The group's second album, Elnar ("the fire" in Arabic), featured notable tracks like "Elnar", "Dioud", and "Ibn Sina". In 2007, they released a remix album titled Aïwa Remixed, Volume One. The group's discography includes collaborations with artists such as Jamalski, Anissa Derkaoui, and Says (X Makeena).
