Simon Stålenhag, born on January 20, 1984, in Sweden, is known for his futuristic digital art. Growing up near Stockholm, he initially created illustrations inspired by local landscapes and artists like Lars Jonsson. His transition to science fiction art began after discovering the work of Ralph McQuarrie and Syd Mead. As part of a crowdfunding campaign for his art book, The Electric State, Stålenhag produced and released an album of electronic music with the same title. He released his second album, Music for DOS, in 2018. His art has been adapted into various media, including the Amazon series Tales from the Loop and the Netflix film The Electric State.
