Georges Nilecam, also known as Eugène Mona, born on July 13, 1943, in Le Vauclin, Martinique, was a flutist and singer. He began his musical journey at a young age, winning a créole singing contest at the age of 15. Mona's breakthrough was written "La Chandelle" in 1975, which explored themes related to the eruption of Mount Pelée. His subsequent albums include Eugène Mona (1976). Notable songs like "Moin ka douté" further solidified his reputation. He passed away on September 21, 1991. Posthumously, several tribute albums have honored his legacy, including Léritaj Mona in 2006 and its sequel in 2011.
