Gabriel Lewis Laughlin, also known as Jean Gabilou, born on February 28, 1944, in Papeete, Tahiti, is a French Polynesian singer. He began his musical journey performing at the Matavai Hotel and later formed the Banjo Boys. In 1971, he signed with Eddie Barclay in Paris. He represented France in the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest with "Humanahum", finishing third. Despite health challenges, Gabilou has performed at the Oscars of Polynesian music and celebrated his 50th year in the industry with a concert in Papeete's House of Culture in June 2013.
