Mike Reno is a Canadian rock singer and songwriter who was born as Joseph Michael Rynoski in 1955. Reno achieved professional recognition as the lead singer of the band Loverboy, which he helped form in 1979 with the guitarist Paul Dean. He is famous for his vocal contributions to multi-platinum studio recordings such as Loverboy (1980), Get Lucky (1981), and Keep It Up (1983). His career includes the soundtrack performances “Almost Paradise” (1984), a duet with Ann Wilson, and “Heaven in Your Eyes” (1986) with Loverboy. Before joining Loverboy, Reno performed with the ensemble Hammersmith and recorded the studio album Under the Lights (1978) as the frontman for Moxy. In 2009, Reno was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. His discography includes the solo studio recording Renovation (2002).
