South African trio Christo Snyman, Cobus Snyman, and Stephan Snyman formed the pop group Broers in 2006, after the older brothers had played as the duo Christo en Cobus from 1992. Their breakthrough came with the 2008 single "Huistoe", which earned the Best Song of the Year award at the Tempo Awards presented by Huisgenoot. Following the debut album Broers (2006), the group released 10 000 Myl (2009) and the gospel album Voetspore (2011), before issuing Die Heiland Is Gebore (2013) and Diep in My Hart (2017). A live DVD, Broers Tussen die Sterre, received a nomination for Best DVD of the Year. The brothers continued touring and recording under their own publishing house, SMP, until the present. In 2021, they released the single "Angels Above Me (Party Mix)", a remix of their original track by producer Cre8tro, which reached number 60 on the UK's Singles Sales chart and number 54 on the Singles Download chart in 2026.
