Nuevo!!! NEMESIS (GUERRA POR EL AGUA)
With more than twenty-five years of uninterrupted career with the same original line-up, Reytoro
has released three studio albums and one live album, being recognized with two GOLD RECORDS
(Uruguayan Chamber of the Record Industry) and three Graffiti Awards for Uruguayan Music.
With the release of their first live album “VIVO,” Reytoro became the first band of the genre in their
country to achieve a Gold Record (Uruguayan Chamber of the Record Industry), repeating the
award with their following album “II” (Bizarro).
Throughout their extensive career, Reytoro has shared the stage with bands such as Sepultura,
Guns N’ Roses, Deep Purple, Rata Blanca, Megadeth, Malón, O’Connor, Horcas, Exodus, and
Kreator, among others. They have toured Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile,
Spain, and Mexico, always fostering cultural exchange and inviting local bands from these countries
to perform in Uruguay.
Reytoro was formed in 1998 in Montevideo, the same year they recorded their first demo “La sed y
el hambre,” which allowed them to step on stage and later record their debut album “I” in 2003.
In 2007, they released “VIVO” (Bizarro), winning the Graffiti Award for “Best Heavy Metal Album” in
2008 and achieving Gold Record status (Uruguayan Chamber of the Record Industry).
Their second studio album, “II” (Bizarro), was released in 2008, consolidating the group within the
Uruguayan music scene and again receiving the Graffiti Award for “Best Hard Rock and Heavy
Metal Album” in 2009, as well as a Gold Record.
In 2015, Reytoro released their album “III” (Bizarro), which confirmed their place as the leading
heavy metal act in Uruguay, with large audiences at their live shows. The end of this trilogy
showcased their musical maturity, experimenting with new textures by incorporating saxophone,
percussion, children’s choirs, lyrical choirs, and poetry. This album also earned them the Graffiti
Award for “Best Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Album” in 2016.
With their trilogy fully released, Reytoro solidified its position as the most representative band of the
genre, touring nationally across Uruguay and internationally in Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia,
Chile, Bolivia, and Mexico. In Mexico, they performed at Force Fest, sharing the bill with System of
a Down, Alice in Chains, Slayer, Rob Zombie, Lamb of God, Stone Temple Pilots, Anthrax, Exodus,
Testament, among others.
The band is currently finalizing their upcoming album “GUERRA POR EL AGUA,” to be released at
the end of 2025.
Reytoro is composed of Fabián Furtado (vocals), Norberto Arriola (guitar), Fernando Alfaro
(drums), and Enzo Broglia (bass and vocals). The band actively promotes the genre as founders
and producers of the “Antes del Fin Fest,” which celebrates its 20th consecutive edition this year,
held on the last weekend of December. This highlights their strong commitment to
self-management and musical/cultural exchange.
