Guns of Brixton, a French post-rock/dub band from Caen, was formed in 2002. The group initially consisted of five members but was reduced to four by 2004: Nicolas on bass, Sidoine on drums, Cyrille on guitar, and Steven on machines. Their name references the Clash's "The Guns of Brixton". In 2005, they released their debut album Near Dub Experience, showcasing an electro-dub style with rock influences. In 2006, Guns of Brixton was released In.Dub.Out, blending post-rock and dub elements. Their third album, Cap Adare (2009), marked a shift towards rock with saturated guitar riffs. In 2012, they released Inlandsis, which explored post-hardcore elements. The band reunited in 2018 for a performance at the Nördik Impakt festival.
