Daniel Lazo (born September 23, 1990, in Ayacucho, Peru) emerged from local gigs in Lima after relocating in 2008 and rose to national attention in 2013 by winning the inaugural season of La Voz Perú, earning a deal with Universal Music Latin Entertainment. In March 2014 he debuted with “Si No Es Contigo,” written by Peruvian star Gian Marco, launching a romantic-pop profile that would define his catalog. He followed with the single “Vuela Paloma” (January 6, 2015) and the reflective cut “16” (April 1, 2016), supported by a high-rotation video, while touring regionally. Daniel Lazo’s first studio album, El amor y otras mentiras (March 23, 2018), consolidated prior standouts—“Si No Es Contigo,” “Olvidarte” and “16”—and marked the culmination of his early Universal period. He returned in 2020 with stand-alone singles “Te Elijo a Ti” and “Tu Casa, el Mejor Lugar del Mundo,” then revisited his signature hit with “Si No Es Contigo (Versión Salsa)” in 2022. Subsequent releases broadened his collaboration slate: “En Otra Vida” in 2024 and several joints on producer Jeyko Atoche’s Suena Wow project. 2025 brought a steady run of solo singles—“Culpable o No,” “Promesa Eterna,” and “Volar”—positioning Daniel Lazo for a mature second act built around power ballads, crossover remakes, and strategic features.
