Clotilde Acosta, known professionally as Nacha Guevara, was born on October 3, 1940, in Mar del Plata, Argentina. She began her career as an actress and dancer, studying classical dance at the Teatro Nacional Cervantes. Guevara's breakthrough in music came in 1968 with the experimental song spectacle Nacha de noche, presented at the Payró theater. She followed this with Anastasia querida in 1969, which featured versions of songs by Jacques Brel and Violeta Parra. In the early 1970s, Guevara performed at various venues, including La Botica Del Ángel and El Gallo Cojo, gaining recognition for her vocal prowess and satirical performances. Her notable albums include Canciones para mis hijos (1973) and Las mil y una Nachas (1973). In 1974, Guevara was forced into exile due to political turmoil in Argentina, living in Mexico, Spain, Peru, Brazil, and the United States.
