Douglas Seegers, born in 1952 in Long Island, New York, United States, is an American country music artist, guitarist and songwriter. He began his musical journey playing in New York and Austin, Texas before moving to Nashville. Seegers' breakthrough came when Swedish singer Jill Johnson discovered him during the filming of her TV show Jills veranda in 2014. This exposure led to the release of his debut album Going Down to the River (2014), which topped Number 1 on the Sverigetopplistan, the official Swedish Albums Chart, and was certified gold. Notable collaborations on this album include Emmylou Harris and Buddy Miller. His discography also includes the albums In Tandem (2015) and Walking on the Edge of the World (2016).
