Nora Baumberger, known professionally as Dolly Buster, was born on 23 October 1969 in Prague, then part of Czechoslovakia. After relocating to Germany with her family in her teens, she entered the entertainment industry as a performer, later transitioning to music. Dolly Buster released her debut single "Make Love (Make No War)" in 1995, which entered the German singles chart at position 80. In 1996 she followed with "Shake It Up", and in 1998 issued a cover of Connie Francis’s "Schöner fremder Mann" under the title "Schöner fremder Mann (Ich Bin Dolly B.)", released as a mini‑CD on 4 September 1998. Throughout the late 1990s, Dolly Buster’s recordings were distributed by independent labels focused on electronic pop, and she appeared on several television music programs, including a guest performance on Stefan Raab’s Maku c’n show. Her work received a lifetime achievement recognition at the Venus Awards in 2000, and she was later honored with the Special Jury Award and Innovation Award for Vodafone‑live in 2003. Dolly Buster’s musical output concluded with the 2010 single "Wake Up (Be Good to Me)" featuring Sin with Sebastian, after which she ceased releasing new recordings. Her career remains noted for its crossover between adult entertainment and mainstream electronic pop, marking a distinctive, though brief, presence in the German music scene.
