Kye Beom-ju, known by his stage name Bumzu, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and record producer born on November 8, 1991. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the music of boy bands NU'EST and Seventeen, for whom he has written and produced extensively. Bumzu began his musical journey in Seoul, learning violin as a child and later becoming active in Hongdae’s underground music scene during high school. His breakthrough came after participating in Superstar K 4 in 2012, which led to collaborations with Pledis artists like After School and NU'EST. He has co-produced for Seventeen since their debut song "Adore U" with Woozi in 2015, and they run a studio together called Universe Factory. His solo works include the 2015 album Good Life and several extended plays such as Something Special (2013) and 24 (2014). In 2020, Bumzu became co-CEO of Prismfilter Music Group and, in 2024, became the main producer for the group TWS under the pseudonym "Wasurenai." That same year, he received KOMCA's Grand Prize for being the highest-earning K-pop songwriter in 2023.
