Black Pearl is a South Korean girl group formed in 2007 under Core Contents Media. The initial lineup consisted of Nami, Hwieun, Youngjoo, and Mika. Black Pearl debuted on July 16, 2007, with their first single "좋은걸 어떡해" ("Joheungeol Eotteokhae"), an R&B track performed on M! Countdown. The group quickly followed up with additional digital releases including "Gyeor Gug... Neojanha", "What Should I Do", and "Finally… It's You". In 2008, members Nami and Youngjoo participated in a special unit called Color Pink alongside other artists from Core Contents Media. They also collaborated with South Korean rapper Mario on the track "Hateful Love". Mika left Black Pearl in 2010 for personal reasons and was replaced by Jungmin. The group released their EP Gogossing in July 2010, which they promoted extensively on Mnet's M! Countdown for four months. They were regarded as Core Contents Media's next big group, alongside labelmates Co-ed School and T-ara. In 2009, Black Pearl contributed to the soundtrack of the film Cinderella Man with the song "I Like You". Despite initial success, Black Pearl disbanded in 2012, with members pursuing solo activities. The group's final lineup consisted of Nami as the leader, Hwieun, Youngjoo, and Jungmin. In 2022, Black Pearl made a brief return with the single "I Can See Your Voice 9, Pt. 5" .
