Mats Emil Assergård, known professionally as Emil Assergård, was born on May 23, 1991, in Undrom, Sweden. He is a Swedish singer-songwriter who began his music career with the release of his first EP, Naket, in 2013. His debut studio album, Rakt från hjärtat, followed shortly after. Assergård's breakthrough came with his second album, Den Ensamma Känslan, released in 2015. He signed with Universal Music in 2016 and released his third studio album, Leva Livet / En samling, in 2019. This album debuted at number 5 on the Swedish Album Chart and was certified platinum. Notable singles include "All In" and "Ego", which have accumulated over 45 million streams on online streaming platforms. Assergård participated in Melodifestivalen 2021, but was eliminated in the semi-final.
