Julie Boulianne, born November 21, 1978, in Dolbeau-Mistassini, Quebec, Canada, is a mezzo-soprano known for her agile and expressive voice. She graduated from the Juilliard School of Music in New York and the Schulich School of Music at McGill University. Boulianne began her career performing major operatic roles across Europe and America. Her repertoire includes works by Mozart, Rossini, and Berlioz. Notable collaborations include performances under conductors such as Charles Dutoit, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Michael Tilson Thomas, John Eliot Gardiner, Plácido Domingo, Emmanuel Villaume, Alain Altinoglu, and Patrick Fournillier. She has received support from the Fondation Jacqueline Desmarais and the Canada Council for the Arts. Boulianne's notable recordings include Alma Oppressa (2017) featuring "Arias de Vivaldi et Handel," and Fauré: Intégrale des mélodies pour voix et piano (2019). Her awards include the Silverman Prize from the International Vocal Arts Institute in 2007, a Grammy nomination for Best Classical Album in 2010 for L’Enfant et les Sortilèges/Shéhérazade – Maurice Ravel, and multiple Prix Opus.
