Musician and singer Jane Fostin was born in basse-Terre, Guadeloupe, on December 27, 1973. Born to a musician father, she was immersed in zouk and reggae. Her voice was an asset that enabled her to join the group Les Aiglons in 1986. Two years later, she replaced Joëlle Ursull in the group Zouk Machine, and rocketed to the top of the charts in 1989 with the hit Maldòn (La Musique Dans La Peau), which spent nine weeks at the top of the Top 50. After reaching the top of the charts and selling out the Paris Zénith, Zouk Machine was no longer successful when Clin d'œil was released in 1994, and Jane Fostin left the group to go solo. She borrowed the name Cheyenne to release a few dance tracks, including "The Money Man " (1995). She then turned to more pop, R'n'B-tinged tracks, and returned to the charts in 1996 with "La Taille De Ton Amour". The track was taken from her debut album Jane Fostin. After recording a song for La Belle et la Bête, she released her second album, Vivre Libre, in 2000, featuring "Septième Ciel" and "Je veux vivre", which received extensive radio play. 2005 saw the release of Alibi, featuring the track "Pas de Glace" recorded with Medhy Custos. 2007 saw the release of Eclipse, a modern zouk album featuring a number of collaborations, including a cover of "Just the two of us " with Leee John, and "Je reste fière" with Tiwoni.
