Steel Pole Bath Tub were an American noise rock and punk rock band formed in 1986 in Bozeman. The ensemble was established by Mike Morasky and Dale Flattum, who later relocated the group to Seattle and then to San Francisco. They achieved professional recognition for a chaotic musical style incorporating television and film samples. Their recording career includes the debut extended play We Own Drrrills (1987) and the studio recordings Butterfly Love (1989), Lurch (1990), and Tulip (1990). After signing with Slash Records, they issued the studio recording Scars from Falling Down (1995). The ensemble disbanded in 1997 but resumed activity in 2002 for the Beyond the Pale festival, where they released the studio recording Unlistenable (2002). Their discography includes the archival recording The Skulls Tape (2023).
