Andrea Coen is an Italian harpsichordist, organist, and musicologist born on 22 November 1960 in Rome. He established his early career as an organist and has served as the titular organist of the Church of San Giacomo in Augusta since 1971. Coen earned his degree in letters from La Sapienza University of Rome in 1985 and a diploma in harpsichord from the Royal College of Music in London in 1987. A specialist in eighteenth-century keyboard music, he co-founded the Ensemble Seicentonovecento with Flavio Colusso. Coen has performed internationally at prestigious events such as the Festival de Beaune and the Bach Festival in Riga. His extensive recording career includes the 2011 release Telemann: 36 fantaisies pour clavecin and the complete recording of the sonatas by Domenico Cimarosa. Coen also served as a professor of harpsichord at the State Conservatory in L’Aquila and has authored several critical editions of works by Cimarosa and Muzio Clementi.
