Paperdeer is an independent electronic music band that was founded in 2012 by Norbert Biró (producer) and Benjámin Kiss (producer). Their very first single, „Spencer,” landed in a Pepsi Twist commercial, and online advertisers also started to request the tune. Due to the great initial impressions, they delivered an EP of three songs in 2014 to which Emese Stewart (singer) also joined on vocals. „Up to the Top” and another bootleg generated over a hundred thousand plays on Soundcloud, so their music began to catch the attention of other platforms as well. French fashion shows and startups saught after the music, which also got discovered by producer and rapper Skeeny Boy of Cloud9+.
The first album „Fabled” arrived in 2015, which mainly hit the milestones on streaming platforms and managed to attend more prestigious Spotify playlists too. This LP catered to more towards an international crowd featuring a handful of artists from around the world. Shortly after, they published a remix album of 13 songs collaborating Hungarian underground artists as well as the official remixer of Crystal Castles and Wayne Doe of Some Minor Noise. A remix by GLXY got added to the considerable Youtube music channel DYNMK receiving almost fifty thousand plays. Redford (producer) also played around with Paperdeer’s tunes, which ended up being used in Norbert Michelisz auto racing world champion’s promo video in 2016.
Before the fall of 2019, the founding producers reinvented themselves; they studied, moved countries, took musical detours, created sounds and remixes to eventually re-establish their duo, and ultimately, to prepare for the new projects ahead. The incoming album in 2021 will be thriving for an organic sounding combining both acoustic and electronic instruments, samples, and altered recorded voices. This body of work will introduce singers of different roots and will visualize dance music at the horizon of artistic abstraction, keeping music trends at a distance of inspiration.
