Madreblu, an Italian trip hop, rock, and ambient band from Lodi, Lombardy, was formed in 1995 and consisted of Raffaella Destefano on vocals, Gino Marcelli on piano and keyboards, and Valerio Artusi on keyboards. The group released their debut album Prima dell'alba in 1997. Following Artusi's departure in 1998, Destefano and Marcelli continued as a duo, releasing Necessità in 1999, which featured the song "Certamente" that was included on The Sopranos: Peppers and Eggs and briefly appeared in the episode "Commendatori" of the television series The Sopranos. Madreblu's third album, L'equilibrio, was released in 2004. Destefano left the band in 2008 to pursue a solo career.
