Fleurine Verloop, known professionally as Fleurine, was a Dutch jazz vocalist born in 1969. She studied at the Amsterdam School of High Arts Conservatory. Verloop performed with her band Fleurine plus Five at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Her debut album Meant to Be! (1995) featured compositions by Thelonious Monk and Kenny Dorham. In 1996, she performed with the Roy Hargrove Quintet in Havana. Her second album Close Enough for Love (2000) was recorded with Brad Mehldau. Subsequent albums included Fire (2002), San Francisco (2008), and Brazilian Dream (2019). Verloop received an “Overdue Ovation” from JazzTimes magazine in 2019.
