Solomon Rose, known professionally as Silkie, is an English dubstep and UK garage producer and DJ from Hammersmith, West London. He began his musical journey in 1999 after discovering UK garage artists Oxide & Neutrino and the So Solid Crew through pirate radio stations. In 2001, Rose started producing grime music using FL Studio, releasing his first single "Dark Square" (2002) as Grimey Beetz with schoolmate Harry Craze. In 2004, he co-founded Antisocial Records and began playing on Rinse FM. Silkie's transition to dubstep led to the release of his debut album City Limits Volume 1 in 2009 under Deep Medi Musik. Subsequent albums include City Limits Volume 2 (2011), Fractals (2015), and Panorama (2021). Notable singles include "Hooby" (2008) and "It Wasn't You" (2016). In 2023, Rose launched Antisocial Audio for bass music production courses and Bedroom Rat Records, focusing on UK garage.
