Kim Nowak, a Polish rock band, was founded in 2008 by hip-hop artist Bartosz "Fisz" Waglewski, producer Piotr "Emade" Waglewski, and Michał Sobolewski. Named after American actress Kim Novak, the group paid tribute to 1960s rock music. Their debut album, Kim Nowak, was released on May 14, 2010 through Universal Music Poland, featuring the single "Szczur". The album earned a Fryderyk nomination for Rock Album of the Year. In August 2010, Kim Nowak performed at Orange Warsaw Festival and later at Open'er Festival in July 2011. Their second studio album, Wilk, was released on November 6, 2012, showcasing a darker musical direction. The band supported Arctic Monkeys at Open'er Festival in July 2013.
